For those of you who don't know, this involves putting some Elmer's glue in a nail polish bottle (I've labeled mine "Glitter Be Gone") and applying it as your base coat so you can peel off the glitter polish without damaging your nails. As we all know, glitter polish is a PAIN to remove with just cotton balls and nail polish remover (especially since I refuse to use one with acetone in it on my skin!) so I figured it was worth a shot.
This is the manicure I am currently wearing! (Please forgive the state of my cuticles, I didn't realize how dull my cuticle trimmer had gotten until I got a new one!)
The polishes are as follows:
Thumb: Lady Luck by Sally Hansen
Index: Blingtastic by Sally Hansen
Middle: Water You Waiting For by China Glaze
Ring: Frenzy by Sinful Colors
Pinkie: Seahorsin' Around by China Glaze
Here's a shot with the flash on to show the sparkle! (and my horrid cuticles...)
Blingtastic took 4 coats to be opaque, and 2 coats of SV to be smooth
Water You Waiting For took 3 coats to be opaque (it would be fine with two, but I like the intensity of the color at three better) and took 2 coats of SV to be smooth
Frenzy took 4 coats to be (mostly) opaque and only one coat of SV to be smooth
Seahorsin' Around is a textured polish, but as I topcoated it by mistake, I figured I'd just try to get it smooth instead of leaving it in that weird in between place. So it took 2 coats to be opaque and 4 coats of SV to be (mostly) smooth.
I think it's a pretty appropriate and sparkly celebration of becoming an adult! (ew, adult? Not ready for that!)
