Rose Wallpaper Nail Art

Boy I am really getting this one in just under the wire, huh?  I was going to post it these last couple days but I've just been swamped with things to do!  I'm actually ignoring the prep I should be doing for a party right now to post this, but I don't want to miss the deadline since I loved these nails so much!!

These were a lot of fun to paint and wear, even if they're a lot girlier than I usually wear!  I'm usually not a huge fan of pastel pink on my nails, but I think it worked out here.

This is the wallpaper I used as my inspiration.  As you can see my interpretation was somewhat loose, but I only have so much space on a nail.

What do you think?  Too girly?

Make sure you see the other wallpaper manis!

NCC: Gray Circle Wallpaper

Hey guys! I'm here today with my second to last manicure for the "Wallpaper" theme for the Nail Challenge Collaborative!

This is supposed to be a circle pattern wallpaper, but my mom thinks it looks more like molten silver.  Which I guess is cooler. haha

I used this picture as inspiration, I found it just through Google.

I forgot to overlap any of my circles, but that's okay, I think it still looks like it.

We should also try to ignore how short some of these nails are (especially my thumb).  Winter has not been nice to my nails!

Make sure to check out the other ladies' wallpapers!

NCC: Vintage Floral Wallpaper

Hey guys!  I'm here today with my second post for the "Wallpaper" theme for the Nail Challenge Collaborative.  I spent a lot of time searching wallpapers on the internet and found a few that I thought were really pretty (and not impossible to translate into a manicure).

One of the patterns I found that I liked was this vintage floral wallpaper:

I tried to just translate a bit of the pattern, and I think I did okay!  These were a lot of fun to paint and to wear!  I'm really liking these manicures that stretch across all my nails.

Make sure to see what the other lovely ladies have done for "wallpaper" #2!

Winnie the Pooh Characters Nail Art

Hey guys!  Today's nail art is one of my favorites I've done in a long time!  The prompt for today was "favorite character" which in my case is Tigger, but I decided to be an over-achiever and paint my five favorite characters!

I started these off with contrasting pastel backgrounds to make the characters stand out more, and then blocked out the shapes with white.  I filled in color blocks (I had to mix a lot of colors for this one!) and then added my details in black.  These were a lot of fun to paint, even if they did take a little longer than I'd like to admit!

"It's not much of a tail, but I'm sort of attached to it."

On my thumb I've got Eeyore, eater of thistles and habitual loser of his tail.

"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you."

My index finger has the ever lovable and cheerful Pooh Bear, lover of hunny and adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood.

"What I said was, 'Is anybody at home?" called out Pooh very loudly.
"No!" said a voice; and then added, "You needn't shout so loud.  I heard you quite well the first time."

My middle finger has Rabbit, a rather sullen bunny who would prefer if everyone in the Hundred Acre Wood would just leave him to his garden.

The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful things
Their tops are made of rubber
Their bottoms are made of springs
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is that I'm the only one, I'm the only one!

My ring finger is my actual favorite character, Tigger.  I would sing "The Wonderful Thing about Tiggers" all day long when I was little!

"Oh, dear!"

I thought it was only appropriate to have my pinkie be Piglet!  Pooh's bestest friend, and reluctant partner in crime.

I was really excited for this challenge, and it was a lot of fun! I always love Winnie the Pooh when I was little, it was even the theme of my nursery!

Make sure you check out the other ladies' favorite characters!

CYNA: Forest Nail Art

Hey guys! Today is another challenge day with CYNA, and this one is getting posted really late because I forgot about editing and the like until I got home from work :(

But anyway, the prompt for today is "forest" so I did a treetop scene.

I started by sponging a bunch of different greens onto my nails to make it look like sunlight filtering through leaves, and then added my branches and highlighted them.  I wasn't going to have a trunk in this design originally, but then I scratched the background beyond repair under that spot and needed to cover it up somehow.

Oh well, they're still okay. :)
Make sure to check out the other interpretations of "forest"!

CYNA: Bees and Honey Nail Art

Hey guys! Today I'm back with a challenge from Challenge Your Nail Art.  This month's theme is "Winnie the Pooh" and today's prompt was "bees and honey"!  I actually planned this mani out while sitting in class... whoops!

I started by painting my thumb, ring, and pinkie fingers a light blue, and my index and middle fingers yellow.  I don't think you can tell, but I did use a darker yellow on my middle finger, promise!

I used black and a striping brush to add detail to my yellow nails and pinkie. I blocked out the bee and honey pot shapes with white before filling them in with color.

My favorite nails are definitely the little bee and his path!

Make sure to check out the other ladies' interpretations of this prompt!

NCC: BBC Sherlock Wallpaper Nail Art

Hey guys!  I'm here today with my first post for the Nail Challenge Collaborative for January!  The theme this month is "wallpaper" and while at first I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to think of anything, I've done two manis for this so far and really liked both!

My first mani is the first idea I thought of when I thought "iconic wallpaper."  If you watch BBC Sherlock, your mind may have gone the same place as mine.

I started this mani with three coats of NOPI "Yoga then Yogurt" and did my details with Sally Hansen "Black Out" and "Mellow Yellow."

I tried to vary which part of the pattern showed up on each nail to keep things a little more fun, and also tried to replicate where the bullet holes actually show up on the smiley face in the picture.

These were a lot of fun to paint, though to be honest, a little of a pain in the butt. :P

Make sure to check out what the other ladies have done for their first interpretation of "wallpaper"!
